What we see on calls around Minneapolis
Lind-Bohanon was 85 percent owner-occupied in the city's neighborhood plan data, well above the citywide rate, and it had 5,175 residents in the 2020 Census. Owners on the north side want honest repair-or-replace answers on older furnaces and air conditioners, priced clearly before any work starts. We drive across the city for it and quote both options up front.

Furnaces here are often old enough that a repair and a replacement are both reasonable. We price both side by side, with the age, efficiency and condition of the unit spelled out, and let the owner decide.
Duct cleaning helps in houses where years of renovations or pets have loaded the ducts with dust, especially before a new furnace or air conditioner goes in.
